Complete Homemade Levitron

I made the base from two donut magnets. One of them was shattered but i super glued it back together and it works fine. The top is the tricky part to make. I used a ferrite disc magnet. I couldn't get a toroid shape to work for the top. It is very sensitive to temperature variations. It looks like junk but that's the point! It was completely made from scraps. I have since had much much longer levitation times with it.

@trederman312 You can find the magnets at most electronic parts dealers who sell individual components. Look for small shops that have electronic junk piled from floor to ceiling, those have been my best finds.

Yes, it is another toroid magnet under the top magnet. The yellow is simply a plastic casing.

Hi, I'm trying to build a Levitron but I can not spin the top, it always goes to the sides. What can I do :?

@juperola2 Your base may not be level. Just because the ceramic looks level doesn't mean the magnetic field is level and uniform. If they are dropped or heated, the domains can get out of whack. Whichever side your top is falling to, raise the base from that point.
