I thought I had a deffective unit, but now it's clear that all Zx1's have the same deffect: heavy Screen Tearing when you move the camera! The encoder just isn't fast enough!

"Screen tearing" occurs during video motion, creating a torn look as edges of objects (such as a wall or a tree) fail to line up. Look at wikipedia for more info, it'll become evident. It ruins all footage from this cam.

Stay away from this cam if possible. All video tests in youtube show this deffect. I'm returning mine.

The Flip has better video quality. I have one of these, and originally it worked, but now it won't even turn on. I'm considering a Flip. Any suggestions?
