From Broadway show Blackbirds of 1933

Don't save your kisses, just pass them around
You'll find my reason is logically sound
Who's gonna know that you passed them around
A hundred years from today

Why crave a penthouse that's fit for a Queen
You're nearer Heaven on Mother Earth's green
If you had millions, what would they all mean
A hundred years from today

So laugh and sing, make love the thing
Be happy while you may
There's always one beneath the Sun
Who's bound to make you feel that way

The Moon is shining and that's a good sign
Cling to me closer and say you'll be mine
Remember, Darling, we won't see it shine
A hundred years from today

So laugh and sing, make love the thing
Be happy while you may
There's always one beneath the Sun
Who's bound to make you feel that way

The Moon is shining and that's a good sign
Cling to me closer and say you'll be mine
Remember, Darling, we won't see it shine
A hundred years from today
A hundred years from today

  • In my opinion the Sarah Vaughan version of this is by far the best. What superb lyrics!

  • Some songs don't suit Joni 's voice ,this is one of them

  • I absolutely love it. Joe Williams did a wonderful version too from the male perspective on "Blues & Ballads Master." Check it out!

  • Heard this first by the late Alberta Hunter, who continued singing well into her years. Good rendtion here, too!

  • This is the best rendition of this song I have ever heard.

  • Like this song very much!

    Thanks for the send Fegen.

  • Wow...those Japanese picture sleeves...

    jogged my memory. Exotically beautiful...

    collector's items....

For years, the only re-releases of JONI were

on a Japanese label...until the American

    label "Taragon" took over...

  • I'm most familiar with the Della Reese version

...but JONI JAMES is one of my all-time

    favorites...

  • Happy 78th Birthday Joni James Sept 22,2008!
