Here is an easy way to quickly oil your motorcycle chain if your bike dose not have a centerstand.

1. Put bike in Neutral.
2. Pull bike slightly towards you so weight of bike is on the side stand.
3. Rotate rear tire with your right foot.
4. Spray section of exposed chain with a paper towel underneith.
5. Repeat process until all sections of the chain have been lubed.

  • i have a ZZR600 silver too, nice bike man

  • @koszor1337 it's a ZX10RR

  • What all you "That's Dangerous" people fail to understand is that he is not raising the bike high enough off it's centre of gravity to fall over on top of you. He's just unloading it enough to get the tire off the ground. Same as if you ever rotate a bike around on it's side stand. It's easy and safe when you do it right.

  • all you needed is a 14 inch or so plank to jack the right side of swing arm.easy to carry on a trip too.

  • @quartz12h care to explain using a 'plank'?

  • I have a very light Honda Rebel, and I would never do this! Lol!

  • lol i like it!

  • I just roll the whole bike forward a little bit between each spray till I get the whole chain.

  • Well do your Chain a favor, and do not spray only on on side of it. Spray also from the left side. Your chain will thank it! AND wait at least 30 minutes befor you start to ride again after oil your chain -.-

So spray Slowly, Spray also the back of your chain. Maybe clean it befor u spray it. And let the oil work.

Just because u put some oil onto the outside of your chain, it dont mean that the oil also got into the chain. so do it 30 minutes befor you start or after your ride... -.-

  • I think it's a misery (non sport) bikes with chain haven't a central stand.

What if you want to do a several days trip, maybe with rain, you're away from home and have no central stand.

Well, either you do this, with the risk to break the side stand or risk the bike to fall, maybe on you, ...

So again, if the central stand is optional on a bike with chain transmission, buy it. What would be nice to have is a stand at the fueling station!

  • I bet its smart!, but who is laughing when the sidestand breaks xD

  • @Boneman131

push the bik on the side stand but jack the swingarm under the shaft bolt or the spool. the wood board has at least 3-4 inch wide and right angle cut, the bike wont roll forward. wood because it is light and soft and you can carve the shape of the bolt or spool too.keeping it simple.
