@lostindiancamp Apparently you read NOTHING about him or his family, OR this trip prior to posting. He did break a record that stood for a few months until a British kid broke it, he did NOT fly back for Christmas as you state (not sure where you got that idea), the only assist he got was from the occasional repair work that went on. These folks are NOT rich and live in a modest home in a LA suburb. You really should read up on something prior to posting.

this guy didn't break any kind of official record. He did not sail unassisted. He stopped several times to relax and he even flew back home for Christmas.
All this rich kid did was take a year's vacation to exotic ports of call.
Hell, anyone with money can do that.

Karen Thorndike is 56 years old. 56 - 11 does not equal 18. Stay in School.

why lie there was a woman called karen Thorndike who was bellow 18 years old and sailed the official route around 11 years ago. I belive you did this for publicity and sponsors good luck with the hype and publicity from a lie.

Hey Zunderland Family! Your boy did it!!! We're so proud of all of you! God Bless!!!
What you're saying is that all parents that let their kids drive are bad parents since there is a "MEASURABLE" chance they'll have an accident. I think you're the crazy one!

Best of luck Zac! Your a youngman mature beyond your age. I heard you on the radio and I was just amazed with how you came across. Your knowledge of seamanship and spirit will get you through. I just know your going to do it! Do a pit stop at the Rock of Gibralter and visit the Barbery Apes.
