Kentucky Farm Bureau's 47th Country Ham Auction raises a record-breaking $1.6 million for charity at the 2010 Kentucky State fair.
Two bidders, Bernard Trager, Chairman of Republic Bank and Trust, and Dr. Mark Lynn & Associates, owner of Dr. Bizer's Vision World, pooled their resources together and contributed $800,000 each for the 16.05-pound ham produced by Broadbent B&B Foods of Kuttawa, Kentucky. That is the equivalent of $100,000 per pound of ham.
