Truth!
I love Nina Simone. Jill Scott is a wonderful poet; it's unfortunate the themes are still what they are today...40 yrs later. History repeats itself.

@blkfrench26 TRUTH. It's wonderful to know others feel this way too

Did anyone else completely miss that she was talking directly about the government when FIRST hearing this song on the album? i thought she was using metaphors addressing JUST romantic-relationships. When i saw this clip though, it added a whollllle 'nother dimension, and added new meaning.

'I want the feeling of being safe on my streets. I want my children to be smarter than me.' Wow!!!! What a totally beautiful person and amazing talent. So few artists can sound better live than on a CD. Jill Scott is one of the few. Truly inspirational.
