This was recorded on 30.09.09 at the concert in the "Tollhaus" in Karlsruhe, Germany.
I counted 14 references to other songs so far:

Sympathy for the Devil (The Rolling Stones)
If I were a Carpenter (Bobby Darin)
Timewarp (Rocky Horror Show)
Brown Sugar
Save the last dance for me (Ben E. King/The Drifters)
Under the Boardwalk (The Drifters)
Hey Jude (The Beatles)
Sexy Thing (Hot Chocolate)
Waiting for My Man (Lou Reed)
Walk On The Wild Side (Lou Reed)
Heroes (David Bowie)
Angels (Robbie Williams)
Bulletproof (La Roux?)
Hey Joe

A great version of this song can be found on the Ukes' album "Live in London #1", which can be purchased from http://www.ukuleleorchestra.com

  • THEY ARE AMAZING LIVE

  • Brilliant as usual....hurry up and come round the west country again. PLEASE

  • they are so funny and talented, as well... ;)

    very entertaining guys!

  • @markiliff Thanks to you too, this piece really is quite amazing.

  • @livingittothefull Thank you for your help, I'll mess around with this a little later.

  • Alan, I think it's just 5th - 4th - root then back to 5th.

Isn't the point of the piece that all the fragments quoted follow the same progression (whether or not it's the one I think it is)?

    µ

PS: Just seen livingittothefull's response: 5th-4th-root-5th of C.

  • Alan, I don't have a uke yet and I tend to play by ear but I've been messing about with this on my six string "g that should not be named" and I've got G, F, C,G as the four chords that will carry you through to when Will joins in. Hope this helps.

  • Does anyone know the Chord progression of this song or at least the four chords they keep repeating towards the beginning?

  • @spaceritual72

    Yorkshire humour!
