Back when a person actually needed TALENT to play an instrument and/or sing. To this day, I have NEVER watched an episode of American Idol, America's got talent, etc... and boy, am I glad!!! Listening to music like this makes me know that I grew up with the last good decade of music - the 70's. Yeah, the 80's had some good stuff, too, but the downfall of music began in the 90's and that stuff that is on the radio today is absolute CRAP. Thank goodness I have a bunch of CD's!! Alastair Ian Stewart was born in Glasgow, the only child of Joan Stewart, a Northamptonshire-born widow, and daughter of a professional trumpet player. Al's father was tragically killed when his plane exploded in March 1945; he was not quite 25 years old. Al's pregnant mother went first to live with her father-in-law at Greenock, and later moved to the South-West of England and sent her son to boarding school. Many of Al's earlier songs were inspired by his boyhood and youth.

Great stuff and pre-MTV. Memories of inspired music like this are based on our experiences and not the videos that we were forced to see on TV.

Loved this tune as a 10 year old kid. Weird, but always thought it had something magical in it.
Just one question though. Wasn't it released in 1979?
