Persia is a Latin pronounciation Of Parsua or Parsa which was the name of an Aryan Tribe that settled in Parsuash in Northern Iran , Persians were mentioned in Assyrian texts as ppl who lived in Urmia long b4 they established the Persian or Parsian empire in Pasargad .
in all Achaemenid inscriptions the term Parsa is used as their Empire .
both Iran shar & Parsa r used by Sassanid Persians in their diplomatic lletters.

Iranians have always referred to their homeland as "Iran". This is obvious in mass of Iranian literature such as Ferdosi's masterwork the magnificent "Shahnameh", the pahlavi sources, and so forth.
However, Iran was referred to as Persia in the west and in most non-Iranian text such as the bible. The terms Iran and Persia refer to the same noble nation and people.
