Mary Hopkin, credited on some recordings as Mary Visconti, (born 3 May 1950) is a Welsh folk singer born in Pontardawe. She is best known as one of the first musicians to sign to The Beatles' Apple label and for her 1968 single "Those Were The Days", a Top 10 hit single in both the UK and the US.

Wow, I was only 7 years old when this song was released! I still have the 45rpm vinyl that Dad ran out and bought for us to listen to! Ah yes, those really WERE the days!
