  • I'm sorry, the lesson is quite hard to understand (to me). The first kind of ornament you are taking about is :

    1 / take a phrase like C D A B C (If I'm in the key of C)

2/ put some foreign notes into it (coming from the key of C#)

    The result should be C D A# A B C# C

Please, can you confirm I have it ?

  • @ClaudeAndCo no foreign notes- the notes come from the chords. The chords that accompany this line are Eb Major, C7, Fminor7 Bb7 Eb Major again

  • Awesome as usual! Although I really don't think it's necessary that you name each note you play, it's even a bit confusing (and apparently for you as well it seems, lol!)

If as you've done, you play it slow enough, even the most beginner can figure it out.

You should consider doing online 1 on 1 webcam lessons with Skype or whatever, I'd be a taker! :-)

Keep the videos coming anyway, much appreciated!

I'm off to donate for your album...

  • @chumbo Yes, I do give skype lessons. Send me a message :) Yeah it's hard to remember the exact line i'm playing when I say the notes. It helps the trombone players tho ;) Thanks for the donation :)

  • @chumbo Didn't think of the trombone players of course ;-)

But still, when you run through the phrase a 2nd time played that slowly, I think you can still be almost tone deaf and figure it out by ear. BTW, I'm really enjoying the album! I highly recommend it to anyone, and it's a great educational tool as well as it's full of very impressive and tasty phrases to analyze and work on from both Isaac and Sean Wayland (transcribing right now in fact).

I'll message you soon about the lessons.

  • Great lesson!
