  • I went to this concert on Wednesdsay this week. I can honestly say that it was the greatest performance I have ever seen or heard by any orchestra of any piece of music. No exaggeration. The last movement was a revelation. So excitingly interpreted as it wound its spectacular way to the home key. I was in tears throughout and on the edge of my seat. I cannot thank Neeme Järvi and this wonderful orchestra enough for such an unforgettable experience. I will be returning to your great city again!

  • I love the gesturing at 3:31. Neeme Järvi is contagious with his enthusiasm! Bravo Neeme!

  • @davecoleman12 I must agree that Järvi usually loves to play faster but who knows in what exact tempo the composer wanted the piece to be played.

  • @Impressionist1 I'm sure he is...but there is a modern day tendency to crash through classical pieces as fast as possible..And with Bruckner that temptation is even greater as his musical architecture is so vast!!...(It's my opinion I admit)...

  • @davecoleman12 Excuse me... but this is very stupid and nasty commentary. In many interpretations when played Bruckner, it seems that music is standing or almost dead, but with Järvi I always feel that music is alive and has actually a purpose. Have You been to His concerts?- it's hard to find even a minute where I have been bored in His concerts... His truly one of the greatest conductors and teachers of all time!!!

  • That's the right speed for this finale!

  • This is the same conductor that I gave my teddy bear and took a picture with at the Kennedy Center! :3

  • Neeme,leave Bruckner alone

  • The first two comments reveal again the infinite range of reactions to music, and to differing interpretations. I favor allowing conductors the widest discretion--Bruckner's own many rewrites invite experimentation. The glory of Bruckner is that he can sound exciting in any version, variety, speed, or volume. I find Jarvi's more hurried adagio a thrilling new sound and mood and spirit. Thank the heavens (and Bruckner and Jarvi) for variety!

  • Honestly Mr. Jarvi, leave Bruckner alone!!! you've just decimated one of the greatest symphonies ever written!!!...
