Glimpses of Venezuela: On Sunday, 24 April, 2011, the day Sri Sathya Sai Baba (1926-2011) left this world in his home town, Puttaparthi, in India, his devotees in Venezuela gathered, among others, at the CENTRO SAI (Sai Centre) situated on the 1st Floor of Edificio Acapulco on the Boulevard of Sabana Grande in Caracas to pay their respects to their beloved Spiritual Guru who has a large following in Latin America, including in Venezuela. Here one can see the Venezuelan devotees chanting Vedic Mantras and singing Bhajans in the honour of Sai Baba. The first Sai Centre in Venezuela was opened in Caracas in 1974 by Mrs. Arlette Meyer in her own house. Other Sai Centres in Caracas are located at Vista Alegre, El Marqués, El Rosal, Los Dos Caminos etc. It is said that there are more than 40 Sai Centres all over Venezuela in the cities of Puerto Ordaz (State of Bolivar), Porlamar (Margarita Islands), Maracaibo (State of Zulia), Valera (State of Trujillo), Maracay (State of Aragua), San Cristóbal (State of Tachira), El Vigia & Merida (State of Merida), Barinas (State of Barinas), Barquisimeto (State of Lara), Valencia (Carabobo) etc.
