(January 29, 2010) Despite the epic nature of the disaster in Haiti, this overview of worldwide news coverage of the earthquake reveals that media still found time to commend their nation's rescuers, promote their own star journalists, and even get in some digs at the U.S. While the coverage raised awareness and donations for devastated Haiti, these clips from media around the world show a fine line between compassion and self-promotion while thousands go without food or shelter. This episode also includes an interview with The New Republic's Senior Editor Noam Scheiber.

  • Link tv please stop using adjectives. Your work is extremely valuable, but would be of excellent use if you managed to refrain from using adjectives and tainted vocab. "cynical" or the comments about al jazeera and rt. not necessary. not very calssy. We already know those things... or we should judge by ourselves... less adjectives. And again thank you for your hard work,

  • Fuck all this main stream media, but that remind me of a say that goes like this.

"What's goes around come back around

  • haarp used to bring earthquake.

  • watch?v=G4q1FlFe2yU

  • you sound stupid watabej

  • why should they?

  • You're absolutely right; the islamic world has contributed nothing positive - not now, nor in the last 500 years. Muslims should really be the last group of people to criticise others; in the last 500 years they have brought nothing to humanity other than terrorism, whole-hearted celebration of ignorance and poverty. It seems when you people are not out redefining the lower limits of brutality, you're either criticizing the civilized world or plotting the next jihad. You people are ridiculous!

  • Big surprise seeing this comment coming from an islamophobe. Can you disprove any of the evidence shown in this video? I don't think so. And how do you expect the islamic world currently consumed by wars started by the west to contribute financially? are you out of your mind? You are a typical average redneck westerner, who thinks they're simply better than everyone else and is unable to see things from other's perspectives.

  • Big surprise that LinkTv (a muslim backed organization) is criticizing the relief efforts! Perhaps they realized that the islamic world has contributed virtually nothing. Instead they have done what they do best: whine & accuse others. This is typical of the nonsense that the civilized world has to put up with from these people. I really hope that the next huge earthquake - or other natural disaster - takes place in an islamic country; I honestly can't think of a more deserving bunch of people.

  • Thank you for your work!
