This video was made simply to honor the greatest voice in music that has ever lived and the greatest song she ever recorded in her short thirty-two years of life. Karen Carpenter's haunting vocals in this song, combined with her brother and friend's symbolic lyrics, make it my all-time favorite recording by the Carpenters band.

  • @oliasdoug Couldn't have said it better myself. :) This song is so powerful and thought-provoking. It is an underappreciated classic that truly deserved a better reception. There is honestly no better lyric Karen ever sang; second, I think, goes to 'One Love,' from the self-titled album. Gosh, her music was beyond beautiful...

  • Couldn't agree with you more on all counts.....this will always be my all-time favorite Carpenters song. I always thought it should have been released as a single; that way more people could have become familiar with it. This song is a fitting tribute to the genius of their music and a shining example of what an angelic voice Karen had.
