It's a good film.

I guess the hazing business is a way of selling these films to the sort of audience that won't go away when it comes to the 'war genre', whilst obviously it's a major part of life in the American military, otherwise it makes an army of some 1,129,283 look like 1,129,283 little boys with guns which I sometimes wonder is entirely the case after watching films like this.

Jarhead is probably the most realistic war movie I have ever seen, And I actually liked it allot.

PS: Am I the only person commenting on this video ? *looks around and watch tumbleweed rolled by whilst listening to crickets*

Saarsgard plays the character "Johnny" who is based on Swofford's real life shooter in his 2 man sniper team. The real johnny is an elusive son of a bitch that I can't find on facebook LOL.

P.S Watch Bufallo Soldiers if you haven't already. Again it's an adaptation from a book about bored soldiersonly this time in 1989 East Germany, more drugs, more Joaquin Phoenix, and more driving a tank around when very high indeed.
