@Krittayot95 Khmer was Indianized, then Javanized and Siamized...it was your Javanized Suriyavoraman who Sacked Lavo(Dvaravati) in the 11th cen...And it was the people of Lavo(Loburi)+Suphanaphumi(Suph
anburi) who form SIam Sri Ayuttaya...the people were hybrid of Austric-Tai...they're the descendant of both Dvaravati+Cheangsean...Finally they droved the invaders off their lands...And after the raise of Siam they in turn influenced their neighbor...Fact with solid evidences!!! -
solid evidences proved that this complete package of muaythai in term of guard, stance, foot work and striking techniques was never exist before the rise of Siam!!! Just go back and look at the FACT of Khmer boxing demostration in 1930s , all the guard ,stance, footwork and striking techniques are almost completely different from muaythai!!! But today they look identical...Why???Did you even know that E-Phuthong and many Khmer fighters were train in Thailand???

Khmer did not steal anything for Siam (besides lame pop music...) but Khmers borders throughout the centuries occupied most of southeast Asia. Its not exactly "stealing" but its called "cultural influence". :)

Khmer has a boxing sport called "bokator" and it was created in the 11th century. And muay thai was created in the 15th century. It is basically the same exact thing. We have the same boxing music and we both have to "Wai Khru" before a match. There was a documentary on the History Channel about bokator I believe and it said that muay thai was derived by bokator. Don't bite me if I'm wrong.

First of all, half of you need to learn how to spell.
Second, Your missing a number if different styles of Muay Thai. THAI not "Tai".
I don't see how Khmer influenced The Thai's at all. Everyone just has to argue some point for whatever reason.

@KezzPezz It's make no sense to me. Why muaythai got influenced by Khmer?
In the history Khmer lost to Siam so many times (see wiki). why Thailand need an influence from losers.
yeah but that style came from Burma through Khmer first before it was able to reach the Tais since the Tais did not settle in Khmer Empire until 1216.

NO NO NO I never even mention that tai stole Just trying to say they were influenced by Khmer because they lived among the Khmer. Khmer and Thai have closely the same culture.
