  • there are two guys that should have become bigger stars: ssj and willy deville. what do you think?

  • I am not sure who willie is. SSJ became an alchoholic and junky, or he would be a bigger star. his fault.

  • The guy is so good. Why is he not bigger than he is? Without Johnny, we would not have Springsteen and Bon jovi.

  • true. they are the reason he is not bigger. also, dope and booze was his daily workout for years. did you see s-teen do that backwards body-dip during the superbowl ? he is in good shape in his 60's, johnny let himself go.

  • Caught wind of these guys 32 years ago. Like a fine wine they only get better. Best horn section for "feel". Can rock out anywhere they appear. Thanks Jukes!

  • This album, CD, whatever...should have been huge.

Johnny and the Jukes never got the respect they should have...

    Great performance.

  • @Crazzeefingers still going strong!

  • Drugs & alcohol is a diet for musicians, not all but SSJ & Jukes put out some great music!!!!

  • Love the lyrics:

"I'm coming back. Tobacco was mine"

  • SSJ & the Jukes are missing today from our roots. SSJ had a hard climb, no doubt but still today the best show I've seen to date since 1980! I'd like to go out on a limb here but with the revival of the "back to the roots" movement SSJ could certainly cliam his stake and I would back him 100%!

  • .because a rocker or a jazz musician or rapper has drug/alcohol problems that doesn't make less great ,maybe less marketable now of days.. willy deville had

major problems, but was quoted" everyday life is hard ,being on stage is easy."

southside johnny may have had problems, but both guys on stage where special.

love um both. "GREAT".I THINK PEOPLE LIKE THE ABOVE for the complete freedom in there performance and the hint of danger in there persona is seductive to the listner

  • @corp588

Unfortunately always rode Springsteen's coatails...would drive me to drink for sure...

  • funny to see la bamba and mark pender here. their future home for work

  • Southside's Music is filled with soul and passion. This song in particular has become my lifes' story.

  • @corp588 Really? I have never heard this. i read a lot of these discussions, & I never heard this one. Let's face it, drugs aren't known to kill musical rock careers!

I'm a Jersey girl, and it's always a little disorienting to find how popular the are in northern Europe. They love them some Jersey shore! Seems to me they have it pretty good.
