It's so amazing to read these comments, and realize so many people are out there with the exact same thoughts about Dan, that I have. It makes me feel as though I have friends, that I'll never meet, but have known since about 1972.

Just unbelievable...what an extraordinary talent, so pivotal to my appreciation of music as I was "growing up". I've never heard and will never hear anyone like him ever again.

I keep coming back to this - I can't let go of this final song that Dan shared with all of us. I listened to Souvenirs, Captured Angel, Nether Lands, and Phoenix back to back yesterday, and I was speechless. There's only only reason I can think of for the premature departure of someone with such all-encompassing talent: God loved his voice and music so much, he wanted him there in heaven. But he's still with all of us here too, and I thank him for making such great music.

Such a sad and beautiful cover. I can't imagine how Jean must have felt hearing this. I get the feeling that Dan sang this with a tear in his eye and a wink to all of us...despite the lyric, it's not really over, because his legacy and his music will live on long after he has left us. It's hard to listen to this one, but I can't think of a more fitting end to a 37 year career. Rest in peace, Dan. I wish I could have told you in person just how influential your music was to me.

Again my heart and soul weep. Although I never had the honor or privelege to meet my musical hero, my minstrel, I still to this day feel like I lost a very close friend, one that shared and helped thru all the good times and bad times. I always wanted to just shake his hand, lock eyes and tell him thank you.
