Future of music: "Digital Rights or Wrongs?" is the theme of this program examining what music rights and creative license will mean in the world of new technologies.
What will music rights and creative license mean in the world of new technologies? From the music industry and claims of rampant piracy to online sharing and fierce advocates of fair-use, how will we access and enjoy music? Representatives from all sides wrestle with the future of music and digital rights for creators, consumers and corporations. -- Commonwealth Club of California

The guy on the right seems like he knows what he's talking about and has a clear view on what needs to be done. I can't say the same for the older guy in the blue shirt who seems like he's part of the old guard.
DRM is the reason some people just prefer to download their music from pirate sites instead of just buying them. A price of €15 isn't a problem for me, but Copyright Protection is. Why is it so easy for me to rip copy-protected movies but nigh impossible to rip copy-protected CDs? Really...
DRMs make me want to buy less & less music. They invade my privacy, monitor every single part of a song I listen to, my turntables can't read them, monitor every single I do on my computer, & I have to buy software to remove it!
DRMs are nothing but spyware files that should be outlawed. I say let the corporations supporting DRMs suffer! If they wanted to treat their consumers like criminals, they should just arrest us all! Fuck US Congress for supporting these crooks!
I have an suggestion for your extra sock. Give me a break. Pay attention, DRM isn't working and it is unreasonable. I purchase music and it only plays where the company says it can, PLEASE! I bought it so it is my choice where and when I use it! Period!
For too many years I suffered having to buy a whole album on CD just to get a great single to the benefit of the music companies. The digital age seeks revenge on them, woohooo! I don't endorse music piracy but I also don't think I should've had to pay for dud songs on the back of a great single!

It IS epic failure, case in point.
