  • @Jake45499 those are twin screw Lysholm superchargers. Similar to the whipple tho.

  • Mercury Mercruiser has 2 new engines 1300 twin turbo and a 1350 twin turbo.

  • utuber3596 is dead wrong. 1075's in a 42 poker run edition will run 141 and the lightning is going to be slightly slower due to the added weight.

  • Nice and steady!!

  • BAMF status

  • @RichardEllisxyz Well I stand corrected. Wilson6391 was kind enough to piont out my oversight. Leave it to Merc to figure it out. Yes they now have a 9.0/552 1350 HP twin turbo Quad Cam 4 valve monster. So you are correct looks like a turbo would be a better power adder. I cant wait to see some videos of these in action. Now excuse me while I go wipe the egg of my face.

  • @wilson6391 I have looked at all of mercs websites and searched online and see nothing with a gas engine and a turbo rated at 1500hp. The biggest engine Merc makes for racing is a 1200 SCI. Cummins Mercruiser Diesel makes a QSM 11 rated at 705 hp and it has a turbo but thats about all I see.

  • @maxum2300 just FYI Merc makes a turbo version its 1500hp and the exhaust side is water cooled to keep the turbo temp down like the also for diesels.

  • @maxum2300 You are right! My bad...a careful look & they are serpentine !! Perhaps it is an engineering concept omission for the turbo. As in diesels, one will need to have a water jacket on the exhaust manifolds..still the turbine housing heat needs to be addressed..???? The biggie, at least for me is the sound deadening effect of the turbine. Perhaps one could route the plumbing to locate the turbine high in the compartment, up into the airstream..a scoop assy...as we see them now?
