Montserrat Caballe "La mamma morta" A. Chenier

Creo que Montserrat Caballe no lo hizo con la misma energia o emoción que otras veces yo le he escuchado. No es una excelente presentación de ella.

Belle version, mais il est dommage qu'elle cherche à donner à sa voix un poids qu'elle n'a pas, ce qui donne des graves sonores, mais forcés, et nuit au personnage, à sa jeunesse. Mais la versatilité de Monste est époustouflante.

Brava Monti, indeed she ennunciates the words vocally. Schooled singers first sustain a singing tone line and then place the words into the sustained line. Monti and Scotto are great examples. Often you hear the syllables but do not even see her mouth change form. This is evidence of a highly developed voice being used by a brilliant singer. Monti had few if any peers. Brava diva, Brava!

She never pronounce a word over the F. She not even try! she just vocalize it. And that makes her singing so scholastic.

Nothing compares to the famous Callas version, although this is still powerful, but Callas's version remains in a league of its own

I agree with you, i am a singer too, but this rendition is overdone with her expression, and it makes it almost impossible to listen to. The music itself has a lot of emotion in it, and it does not need too much. But ofcourse this is my opinion...
