Jeannette Altwegg had the calm temperament and patience required to excel in school figures. Consistently accurate, her free skating was less strong and appealing. Despite this, she became World Champion in 1953, and won the Olympic Gold for Ladies Figure Skating in 1952. Britain excelled in figures due to the efforts of London-based, Swiss coaches Jacques Gerschwiler and his brother Arnold. Their first student was Cecilia Colledge, 1937 World Champ.....who later moved to Boston and coached Americans for some 25 years. Top ALL-TIME figures skaters include Cecilia Colledge, Jeanette Altwegg, Patricia Dodd, Carol Heiss, and Trixi Schuba.
Jeannette also won a World Silver (1950) and a Bronze (1949). European Champ in 1951, 52 and Bronzes in 1949, 50.
Are there any videos of her skating? For example 1952 Olympics?

Not that I know of, but people find new things all the time. I have another picture to post soon, something a bit more glamorous than this school girl sweater outfit......but that was a common style of the time. best wishes
