Nice layout. As already mentioned, the speed is too high for the tight curves. Nothing over 40 scale mph for the curves. Where is your layout. I live in Seattle but a California transplant from the "Beaumont Hill" area of the SP. Lived next to the train depot and watched the Sugar Beets, Kaiser Steel ore, PFE's and the Sealand unit trains seemingly on a daily basis. Would enjoy seeing an SP layout.

Cameraman, that was a club layout, and there are club layouts in most cities, just ask your local hobby shop where you can find them. HO scale is the most popular scale, and would be the least expensive for a beginner. Talk with the members of the local model railroad club for tips and suggestions on what to buy. This hobby can be as expensive or as cheap as you want it be. There are numerous train shows held all around the country every year where you can find some sweet deals on equipment.
