In this election a senator accused the Dem. nominee of not putting his country before his party and called him a Marxist. This senator campaigned for down ballot republican senators and house reps. This senator said that it would be harmful for the country if the democrats had a filibuster proof majority in the senate a majority in the house and a democratic president. This senator was critical of the Dem. nominee in his primetime RNC speech. This Senator wasn't John McCain it was Joe LIEberman.

The fact that Lieberman, as an experienced politician, had to have understood the likely ramifications of supporting a presidential candidate from another party shows that he was following his conscience and supporting the candidate that he thought would do the best job for the American people. I respect his loyalty to the good of America over the good of his party.

2. Even if they do, might he not vote with the Republicans anyway? Maybe there's something I'm missing, but the way he's been acting, can they count on his vote even if they do get 60?

He is one of the reasons Gore lost. If Gore had Kerry on the ticket he might have won. Judas Lieberman has been terrible for two decades now.

Unfortunately he is in the senate until 2012 (elections every six years). He has a 61% disapproval rating in Conn. I hope he gets cast out, but Senate democrats are too weak to do it. Progressives have only a handful of representation compared to our numbers. The Republicans and Democrats are corporate whores, Democrats being the lite version. Now that Obama won - progressives need to unite and vote for an Indie party to move this country out of the extreme and middle right wing.

I'm a democrat and you know it's ok if he went for Mccain I have no problem with that, but when in made staements about obama being terrorists and other false propaganda claims for Mccain then theirs a issue. To support someone thats reasonable, but to lie and slander someone's name, is disrespectful and not tolerable in any party. Joe should go independent from now on. I never cared for him even when he was with Gore, he's to conservative for on issue to be democrat.
