I was 19 at that time and saw that performance, it was my first Rush concert.

This was the last performance of the European tour in 1979.
Alex Lefeson hurt his finger because he had a very wild night with his wife,
his finger came between the mattress and the bed.

Info came from: Tjerk Lammers, he was there press manager from WEA record company at that time.

  • In any order you like ... Rush, Zeppelin, and Floyd. Do you really need anything else? 30+ years of being very open to all kinds of music and this is my conclusion.

  • Poor Alex, he never gets his due, kinda like John Paul Jones. The man can play.

  • oh my....

  • I've been watching this since it had about 3000 views, honestly I can account for at least 100 of them.

  • @PFTome camel, genesis, yes, queen, the police, crimson? i mean...kinda need all of those too

  • drum fill at 4:03 O M G!

  • @xyz321123 Lol actually that's where you wrong; by virtue of being able to play the complex rhythms and leads he still plays from his back catalogue, he still has to have the technical ability to play a solo like in la Villa Strangiato.

If that isn't enough to convince you (not that I need to convince you because its simply the truth), look at Geddy Lee and Neil Peart; they still play at an incredibly high level and they are just as old or even older than Alex is.

  • @koolmaaan Its called being 60

  • 61 people thought LaVilla was an Opera

  • @Frumples8 yes he has crazy chops but he simply doesn't play like this anymore.

  • @PFTome i agree with the 1st two..... but pink floyd is wayyyy over rated.... and the station we listen to at work plays them like 12 times a day...

  • One of the best, tightest put together songs of all time.
