Gosh those are a tremendous undertaking! As to The Pearls, I'll have to copy the CD I have to my computer, then figure out how to send you the file. It may take me a bit but I'll be working on it.

Could you send me a copy!?! I love Jelly Roll Morton! I'm learning The Crave and The Finger Buster at the moment. :D

I'm sure you know that JRM recorded this, along with many other of his specialty tunes, for the Library of Congress sessions in 1938. (They are now available as CDs.) I would encourage you to listen to this version, because Jelly adds a third stanza to The Pearls that exists no where else in his work. I don't believe it was ever scored. It would have to be learned "by ear" but as a JRM fan I know you would LOVE the sound when you hear it. I could send you a copy.

In true Jelly fashion!

Excellent Alexandre ~ I love it! ... I must admit however that the first time I ever heard "THE PEARLS" by JRM...it was on an album by Ry Cooder titled simply "JAZZ" and it was...well...anybody who never heard the RC version should do so then you tell YT what you think...to me it was GENIUS
I like Jim Hession - generally - but his 'Pearls' seems too harsh. Yours is the closest to my, unfortunately scratchy, Jelly Roll original that I've heard so far.
Thank you
