Not the FBI which has the most accurate stats because they publish those and you can look it up right now. A criminal doesn't KNOW who has a shotgun and who doesn't. POLICE ARE NOT THERE TO PROTECT YOU so I do not care if someone shot at them based on the fact that "oh they are cops they are good". Here’s a test to see if my gun makes me safer... @Bigbird5553 The states with the highest homicides also have the highest amount of immigrants. Maybe the reason the law obeying citizens are buying guns to feel safe is because they do not feel safe with only police and criminals having them. Remember police are NOT there to protect you. In the little South Dakota town I live at the cops do not even carry guns while most of the towns people open carry rifles or at least a pistol and open carry in schools are aloud. I see no crime here.

So.... even though there are "thousands of defense stories" there are also thousands of people using their own registered legal gun in crimes. I am not for getting rid of guns, but I am not for the bullshitting that they make everyone safer somehow. I just see it as a right of choice. It is claimed through the presence of guns that it lowers crime, doesn't match up with stats tho
