I went to the emergency room Saturday March 28th 2009 down here in Dallas at Parkland Memorial Hospital and now I see how messed up and flawed the US Healthcare system is. Feel free to speak your mind on it i just wanna hopefully be one of the millions of voices in the world to help spark some change.

@awsomeshot Going in to the ER to see an overpaid on call physican for a cold or anything non trauma/injury related when you should have a primary care provider to start with... Even homeless/poor people can get a primary care provider through shelters and community action/outreach programs at clinics and have preventive check ups. Was that hispanic lady a citizen? if she was then that shitty... if not too bad. Same goes for the canooks I saw my share of them in ours, cuz treatment is better.

i throw my 2 cents in here.

I worked in a public hospital in maine. It is written on the wall... no one with a serious and life threatening medical condition will be turned away. All stabilizing and life saving procedures will be done. ED/ER's are a different animal entirely from the rest of the preventive medicine. ER visits are expensive and often over used because of lack preventive medicine. ERs are overwhelmed especially in cities. 95% of cases in ER's are non critical.

contrary to some beliefs, nobody owes you ANYTHING. Get a job, make money, and buy the damn insurance like other people. Government programs are awful. Why do you think hospitals on the border to canada are FILLED with Canadians? They can't get treated with government healthcare.
