As a lesbian young adult in the metal and goth scene, I appreciate this message all the more from my favourite band. I started listening to Kittie at 12, came out of the closet at 16, and at 22 I can definitely say IT GETS BETTER! I play in an all-lesbian industrial nu-metal band and can only hope to be such an inspiration to the community someday :-)

Sure, they get picked on by SOME people, but nowhere near as much as some make it out to be. You know who gets picked on the most, out of anyone? Christians. I should know, I was there, and we still get persecuted for it to this very day. In all honestly, we get persecuted 100x worse, and especially BY gays & gay rights activists, because they think we hate them, and we don't, but they sure hate us an awful lot. We don't HAVE TO accept your actions, and vice versa. It's a 2-way street.

My son is gay, & I love him so much. I knew as soon as they put him in my arms. As he was growing up, I always told him & his older brother that I didn't care what their sexual preference was, I would love them no matter what. He chose to wait until he was almost 18 before he told me. It didn't change anything. I do worry about him being hurt by some jerk who thinks gay is 'catching' (he has been disabled since birth). He is my son & I love him no matter what.

@EnigmaAnonymous Anybody who is different is criticized,or they are pitied. I started back to college when I was 39, a year after I had became disabled. It was easy at first I had straight A's. But this quarter I took on way to much and I paid the price. Anyway the peolpe I find most accepting are the people outside the norms.Gay, lesbians, gothic subculture, and other people who are sick and disabled.Kittie is my favorite band,because they accept people without prejudice

I may not be gay, but I can still relate, I think, at least to some level. I have Asperger's Syndrome. If you don't know what AS is, it's a form of Autism. Anyway, most people love to bash "different" or "weird" people. But not all people. And the people that do bash, I know it's hard, but try not to let what they say eat at you. They're ignorant fools and not worth your time of day. Hey. I'm from the *South.* At college, I see a lot of acceptance. It gets better. It has to. Just hold on. I am.

Mad fuckin respect for posting this video. not sure if any other metal groups followed in your footsteps with it or not, but kudos to you for doing so. as a gay dude int he metal scene AND a metal musician i still see a  of cofans-comusicians super against it. cant seem to figure out why some people cant get their heads out of their asses!!
