Wow! i'm so sorry I've missed this awesome lecture when It came out.On side note: you can see how much pain it is for Mr. Wilkerson to say the awful truth about American Future. Yet it's a sign of a true patriot; a person who not just simply waiving a flag but is ready to have an open, honest and very difficult intellectual discussion. America must be really proud to have citizens like Mr. Wilkerson

is he a spokesman for the united nations? he sounds like one. could the bankers/wealthy elites be planning for a worldwide bankruptzy so as to come as savior? war will not ever end even if money runs out, they can just print up corp script or tokens for buying food and paying bills. soliders don't make much money anyway. he sounds like a globalist too. politicians are not the true power source. I am not sure who really is. who has the gold?

@no2globalism Oi!!! Shut up!!! That's not true you fucking commie!!!

There is no debate. If anyone brings up this stuff we get called unpatriotic or conspiracy theorist.

@jona95822 Those on top don't want the system shaken up to much. They might lose their position so, the status quo is always preferred. Think of it as a pendulum that never goes too far right or too far left it stays somewhere in the middle where the people that know how to play the game the best can play it.

@Pnkbong You know who won't have to worry about lower standards or sustainable standards of living?, the ultra wealthy. Prepare to have your pockets ran through.

@xbluebells I know you know the answer already but i wanted to type it anyway. The court decision means that corporations and companies can quite literally buy elections (not to say that they were not before). Your vote will either be heavily influenced by corporate interest or not matter at all. As if the transfer of wealth wasn't bad enough the standard of living will drop for everyone while the ultra wealthy influential and plain old powerful gain even more .

@blackiron60: Forgive my ignorance, but was Athens not a City State? USA is a whole different animal. USA a multi-ethnic empire of over 300 million souls, with a military reach all over the world. If there were to be any major change within the USA, I suspect it would lead to Secession of States from the Union. Of course D.C. would do practically anything to prevent something like that, including running up the nations debt, and making U.S. citizens and their prosterity to pay for this debt.
The take-away point from Larry's unscripted and eloquent talk is to get involved Americans. Think, read, take long-term action, invest in true visionary and informed leaders free of partisan baloney and xenophobia and prochialism, and do not assume this America is what will continue to be for much longer (consuming beyond our means; spend trillions in an empire of bases, let the dollar rule into inflationary nirvana; just burn baby burn, and fall into simple-minded rhetorical comfort. Wake up.

If this were ancient Athens a revolution would have been launched long ago. When you are directly engaged with the legislative process, as the citizens of Athens were, you realize pretty damn quick how high the stakes can be. Modern voters don't have that sense of immediacy - with few exceptions we are only involved, an even then only a fraction of us, in politics once every four years or so. If democracy is to survive it has to be made more direct and participation has to be ongoing.
