  • Almost all combat Marines have a chance to float with a MEU for 6 months. After that, it is back to your parent unit at your PDS unless there is some special training somewhere on earth or another deployment around the corner. You will float and get some great training like fast roping, reflex shooting and less than official training like card bluffing and canasta skills.

  • marines are in first, MEU are the first of the first

  • That is some kick-ass setup. Is this considered part of MOUT training, because I thought the only MOUT training facility is 29 Palms. Sorry if I'm a bit clueless =P

  • An MEU (Marine Expeditionary Unit) is a MAGTF (Marine Air-Ground Task Force), which is able to sustain itself in all theatres of war. It consists of every element of the Marine Corps.. Infantry, ground vehicles, air vehicles and numerous support groups.

  • hey whats the difference between MEU marines and regular marine units?

  • we did something like this in norfolk for the 24th meu too, this seems better
