My siblings and I suffer from this and it took us until we were in our 30's to realize it! So you are ahead of the game!

Haha, yes, that psychologist was just plain creepy! And I just looked up that book by Gillian Butler, and it looks awesome, thank you! It's been added to my wish list on amazon, and I'm really looking forward to reading it. And I'm looking into the tapes, those could definitely be worth it because I drive alllllot for school and work lol!

Or Dr. Richards "Overcoming Social Anxiety: Step by Step" which is a tape series. That can be found by googling social anxiety institute.

When I was attending a Community College, I usually get very anxious whenever I had an appointment at a different dept. than usual out of fear of encountering ill-tempered or bitchy people like the one you said in your video.
As for that Psychologist, whoa that guy sounded very creepy! When you said he locked the door to the office, it almost sounded like he planned to sexually molest you.
As for tips, have you tried "Overcoming Social Anxiety and Shyness" by Gillian Butler?

Don't worry, just keep trying! Thanks for sharing your story, looking forward to your vids!
I lol'ed at the thing with that therapist. I also had an awkward experience when I attempted the same thing with a counsellor at my uni... lol... what's up with that?
Anyway, when I start getting anxiety thoughts/feelings I distract myself by running some scripts through my mind, especially my fav jokes from South Park. Distracting yourself is an important technique your learn in CBT.

Haha, yeah, weird therapists are definitely not encouraging, but it does make for a kinda great story lol! :)))
And I'm going to have to study up on some of my fave jokes, etc. because that sounds like a great distractionary technique, thanks!

You are so unbelievably cute. :) I love your voice and your smile. I hope you don't mind me saying that. Some of the SA people including yourself really don't seem like they have SA judging by their videos, but I guess that just goes to show how varied different people's SA is. Looking forward to more videos from you.

Haha thank you! That's really nice, I definitely don't mind. ;) And I guess I just treat these videos as a kind of diary, so it doesn't really trigger any anxiety. Now, if I was saying all this to a person face-to-face....that'd be a different story lol.
