There are two dances in this video from 1987. The first is me irish dancing at the age of 9, and the second is my younger sister kerry dancing the two-hand reel at the age of 6. Special thanks to Brian Sexton.
Just brilliant.......had completely forgotten about the two-hand reel - and how different Irish dancing used to be (more subtle in Ulster of course - those flamboyant Galway girls.....!).
I miss dancing for Brian. I danced for him back in the late 90's and early 2000's . Such good memories of his feis in lincroft as well. Still have my school dress and the yellow poodle socks :)
i hope somebody noticed that most kids that age cant even trip over themselves properly much less dance like that. and they are men enough to wear kilts. courage AND talent. great post thanks.
I agree as an Irish Dancer be proud of that I wear my Kilt when Highland Dancing and i have done it at informal Irish Dances. Be proud Irish Dancing is in the blood and go wild with it.
