hey i'm getting this laptop too , but my problem is that i'm confused between acer aspire 8930g and this one.......another question is can i play on high with low resolution like 800x600 !! thanks

They are both good systems, I'd buy based on price. Yes you will be able to play on 800x600, though you probably won't want to. You will be able to play the game at something better.

Which one of these should i get. I am looking for quailty build, gaming, video quality & screen quality. HP HDX18t: Q9000 2GHz Quad Core 4GB DDR3 1066MHz nVidia 9600M GT 512MB Blu Ray Optical Drive Asus G71GX: Core 2 Duo 2.53GHz 6GB DDR2 Ram nVidia GTX 260M DVD+RW Optical Drive Both are around the same price, the Asus $40 more, but gaming & screen quality are the main aspects

I have HP HDX16 notebook.

1920X1080 Resolution.

512MB Dedicated Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT.

Intel Core 2 Duo P7450.

4GB DDR3.

64-Bit Windows Vista (Windows 7 Upgrade arriving in few days).

I must say this notebook is quite impressive with blu-ray and a HUGE resolution. Its equal to a television [Plasma] but the battery lacks longlife as it only lasts 2 hours on just webbrowsing and barely 20minutes while gaming.

hey im getting this laptop with the duo core 2.6 and the 9600mgt graphics card and 4gb of ram

will i be limited to play on low settings?? or can i step it up to medium?

i just want about 35 fps! thanks ;)

i have this and i run gta 4 on med high settings pretty smoothly. It does lag when there are more things in the enviorment to load like a lot of cops or explosions. But I get and average of 30 fps outside and 25 with rain cop and 40 inside. It is very good

why can't you use the settings at least on medium? hdx18 its a great notebook

i have now a oooooooooooold pc it's a dell optiplex gx260 with p4 2.26 ghz 1 gb ram and a intel 845g integrated G 64mb.......so jumping to hp hdx 18 would be like from a donkey to a plane .loool :)
