Kahuku May Night '09- "TAHITI"

Red Raider MayNight- Tiani Mariteragi-- **The THEME for this years 2009 Kahuku High School May Night Tahiti section, tells of an "Awakening of the Soul". A resurgence, a call back to culture; a call back to our own unique epistemologies and lineage. That even though many of us tend to go through life asleep, with our eyes wide shut, embedded within us all is the longing and desire to search and find those things important- The Aparima "Tei Hea Ra Koe" (Where are You?) embodies the very essence of our theme "The Awakening"- this is what we share tonight. That through song and dance, we hope to re-new our ties with the past, as we forge ahead to the future. Thus awakening our inner selves today, with gratitude and appreciation to our Tupuna, Parents, & Teachers. Mauruuru
