Shopgirl Fan Tribute

A fan tribute video I made for my favorite movie of all time. I had originally used a different song that was more uptempo, but this one gives it a more sentimental feel. I am not sure if the lyrics really fit the characters in the movie, but I wanted a song ("White Flag" by Dido) that would still match the visuals and create the right mood. I am still pleased with it, and I hope you are too.

It is also a tribute to Ray and Mirabelle's relationship, even though they don't end up together in the end. Despite the flawed relationship between these two characters, I believe it is a tender, moving story about the May/December romance. Even though Ray wants to love Mirabelle, and he eventually does admit that he loves her, there are things in his character that don't allow him to give himself to her completely. He has treated her differently than other guys she may have known in the past. In the final scene of the film, it is obvious they still have a genuine love for one another, one that neither of them will ever forget for the rest of their lives.

And that is why they are one of my favorite movie couples of all time.

i swear i love dido songs ,her song are always heartwarming well at least to me .i can listen to her song over and over agin and not get tired and i love this song white flag

It's amazing how a song can change the whole mood of a video. My original song "Be OK" by Chrisette Michele was more in line with my original thinking. It was sassy, in-your-face, almost vengeful. I just wish UMG didn't block the video so I could have used it!

However, "White Flag" is my favorite Dido song and also fit very well with the visuals of Shopgirl, and in some ways is better than "Be OK".

I would love to, but someone else did that a while back and Youtube yanked their videos off. I tried to upload something else (not Shopgirl-related) last night, but WMG claimed the copyright.

If there were no copyright restrictions, I would gladly post the entire movie up here. YT just sent me a notice about another Shopgirl vid of mine having a copyright claim by UMG, so I have to be careful.

Besides, I always wanted to a fan tribute for Shopgirl after seeing other peoples' movie tributes.
