but people believe a lie to be true all the time… were indoctrinated to think in a certain way unfortunately for the moment this is the norm but I do hope that we don't all pay too high a price for for are short sightedness for things that are clearly transitory.

I love the music!

Do you think they used Adobe After Effects to stabilize the video? I've never seen anyone edit a graph like that for video, I'd love to know how they did it.

Its interesting how most societal views of "true" beauty are pointed at women, whereas many men simply sit back and enjoy women who put hours into their hair and make up for their benefit. Its amazing how men can just talk about women as objects, only something for enjoyment. Obviously not all men are this way, far from even half of men are this way, but it is still sad to think that any men are this way.

The crazy thing is, Dove is being promoted as female body-image friendly, yet the company that owns Dove also owns Lynx Body Spray... In these Lynx ads, women are portrayed as sluts who will want to have sex with a random guy just because he wears Lynx.
Though Dove seems to have good motivations, remember they're a company that's still aiming to make money. All that vaires is the target audience and the levels they'll stoop to, to make you want to buy their products.

@Adler36 Some of it. Most of it comes with all kinds of fun contracts, which basically say "Dear sir, this is ours, not yours. Don't make us stab you." except with a much nicer legal sound to it. but theres a few I can scrounge up if you want to give me your e-mail.

@005Taylor : Oh really? Could you show some of your works please? :D

The sad thing is, that video doesn't even completely do justice. I'm a photo retoucher, and the amount of time spent with photoshop there is not realistic. For high-end commercial shoots, we go over every inch of the models skin, zoomed in at 500% magnification, doing whats called dodge and burn to completely even out the skin tones. That by itself takes hours, or even days of work.

They aren't trying to make you hate them. They are just trying to inform you so you know. No matter what you say or do people are always going to have an unrealistic idea of what beautiful is. The best thing to do is except it and keep your self educated on what is real and what isn't.
The whole point of this video was to expose retouching in magazines...

That is so bullshit, how many teenagers make themselves go on diets & have eating disorders or have depression because they all want to look like these "beautiful perfect people". It's so disturbing people get paid to do this. Shows how sick & disgusting the media is.
