12" Singles can be either 33 RPM or 45 RPM depending on the length and/or quality of the music itself.
LPs or Long Playing Records were designed at 33 RPM so more songs could be fitted on one 12" Vinyl.
We used to have 78 RPM on record players up till recently.
On the Stanton ST1 deck for example when you press both 33 and 45 together it actually will play records at 78 RPM.
Real handy for music producers, remixers and for the D.I.T.C. enthusiast.
