Here's my two cents. I think it's a mistake to do Ambitious Card right before. This plants a seed in their minds hinting to them at how it is done. "C.O.C." is a rare gem where the magic effect lingers long after the performance is over. I've had cards stay up on high ceilings for years. Every time they return to the scene, they look up, point, and say, "I have no idea how he did that!" and are still amazed.

His presentation shows the spectators that he can easily bring the card out of the middle of the deck, to the top, where it logically needs to be in order to get it to stick to the ceiling when he tosses the deck up. The effect is stronger, in my opinion, if they have no path to follow when they try to go back and guess how it was done.
