  • Good day!

Cheers from Estonian Taekwon-do ITF Union.

    I've got a question.

What do you mean under the phrase "traditional Taekwon-do". I always thought, that traditional Taekwon-do is ITF, but I've never seen a black dobok. Or is it a TKD federation namelike (ATA or GTF)? Just your Chung-Mu pattern differs a liitle bit from general Choi's encyclopedia, so I've became a little bit interested=).

I shall wait for your answer=)

    Yours in TKD

  • I will send you E-mail

  • i can never get this pattern right o.O'

  • Training alone is very difficult. If you get this pattern, that you train taekwondo in korea is vest way. If you come to Korea, Contact me. have a nice day!

  • I am moving to South Korea and I train in ITF, where do is your Dojang?

  • I'll send you E-mail

  • Good technique, keep training my friend ;)

    Cheers from Colombia

  • @yonpets ITF style emphasizes the "sine wave" in the forms. This is Odokwan style, which predates ITF and utilizes more hip and straight technique. I train in Odokwan style, taught by Grandmaster Jong Soo Park, Grandmaster Robert Summers, and Master Charles Gorino.

  • thank you for sharing

  • The people who post a form, seem to enjoy it enough, and seem to get what they need from their training. So, if everyone is happy with what they are doing, what's with the arguments and negative comments in a lot of the posts? Has martial arts become boasting about why your training is better than someone else's? Rudeness? Bullying? I've seen people challenging each other to fights! Really? Is that also what is being taught to students now? If so, that's sad. Really sad.

  • So you should know that TKD has its roots in Tae Kyon, Hwa Rang Do and Karate and that Gen. Choi only started implimenting sine wave principles in the late 50s after this federation split in order to distinguish it from its counterpart.

To claim that Tae Kwon Do used sine wave movements since its founding is nothing more than a show of ignorance on part of you knowledge of the history of TKD. (An ignorance shared amoungst many, if not most, TKD practioners today.)

  • General choi and the other founders created a Korean martial art which they named Tae kwon do, translated verbatim it means foot fist way.

This martial art formed into a federation whose name I cannot remember, however there were political differences and General choi took the ORIGINAL format and went out into the world with it. therefore ITF IS the original Tae Kwon Do

Also, all my comments about this guy's movements are absolutely true,he has no power, sine wave and he never finishes the move

  • I'm afraid you're misinformed.

  • So not faster than ITF

also, you have no power, no attempt at sine wave, you miss out half the movements and your practically lethargic

this is NOT the mother of ITF

ITF is the original tae kwon do

  • hahaha WTF, its looking like a little child perform ballette. have nothing to do with MA
