In this short film we introduce a bit of musth male behavior through photos and video clips. The male, now registered as m0091 for an upcoming elephant ID database, was photographed in and around Mara Conservancy during January and February 2011 by Linda Porter, Cæcilie Willumsgård, Kerstin Bucher and Joyce and Petter of ElephantVoices, all of whom are contributing to the Elephant Partners initiative in the Mara ecosystem. If you want to learn more about elephants in the Mara join http://www.facebook.com/elephantpartners. Or if you want to learn more about elephant behavior try out our elephant gestures and calls databases on elephantvoices.org. You can access them via these links: http://www.elephantvoices.org/multimedia-resources/elephantvoices-calls-datab... & http://www.elephantvoices.org/multimedia-resources/elephantvoices-gestures-da.... Try searching on the word "musth" and you will find plenty of detail on the sex lives of elephants!
