@plainpurplets He didn't just say he supported it. His administration collaborated to craft a bill with Sen. Kennedy, Sen. Graham, and Sen. McCain that provided amnesty and it failed to pass due to widespread public opposition. The whole Bush family has been supportive of amnesty. Jeb Bush is married to a Mexican immigrant and Jeb Bush has a degree in Latin American studies.

as the new President but he was a good and decent man who did a job no one wanted during a difficult time. As we beign with a new President, my hope is that America doesn't slide down a slope where we end up like Canada or some other European pseudo-socialist nanny state. This is the only country in the world where you can arrive with $5 and can achieve whatever your hard work and talent will earn you. I ought to know. I am living proof of it.

what we can not afford is the notion that we need to rely on the Goverment as the solution to our problems. Higher taxes, Goverment programs that stiffle initiative and relative values are the Democrat platform. The notion that the Democratic party is somehow more "inclusive" to Hispanics is a myth as well crafted as the one about "piltdown man". Dont react to media brainwashing and the old cannard about Republicans being old white men. I for one will miss President Bush. He may not be as slick

The values of the Republican Party should be the values of all Hispanics in America. That might be a shocking thing to read but it is true. The GOP stands for a few things such as : free markets, strong national defense and traditional values. It supports the rights and value of the individual and an unflinching belief in God. Personal reponsibility and an entrepernurial spirit define the Republican Party. It is the party of Reagan, Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt.
