Found a 4'x8' sheet of smooth "hardboard" at Home Depot for $7.25. They even ripped it into two 2'x8' sections for me. 30 minutes later I was doing my first slide board workout! I used a 2' piece of 2x4 on each side as stops and some tool drawer rubber padding under each side to keep it from moving on the floor. THIS WORKS GREAT!
Next mod is to add some padding on the blocks and come up with a way to make the blocks adjustable to various widths. Putting some furniture polish on the board really made it more slippery too.

  • thumbs up if you thought it was longboarding lol. maybe im just dumb

  • I think this video would have been better if you had shown us exactly how to make slide board instead of you sliding on it.

Your slide board looks really nice, but I need a visual since I am not a crafts person, I can do whatever you do as long as I can see it!

Please make another video showing how to make it!!

    Thanks for posting.

  • Great, thank you! Do you use special socks? The store bought slides have special shoe covers.

  • thanks I am going to do this. the store bought ones are substandard and overpriced.

  • man, you've got the right idea. hockey and helis. are those 3d? they sure seem like it.

  • @TailoredFincincy

    What is OSB?

  • @johnhallrc just a note for you, I play hockey and I have used these boards for years to practice during the offseason. The boards are made of melamine, also known as whiteboard, and if you use spray lubricant (found in the hardware area of home depot) it will work much better than polish

    happy sliding!

  • @wagerlk you literally buy the board from home depot, put socks on, and go to town. there is nothing you have to do, just little improvements

  • Nice arm swings, good speed. You did great :D

  • thats intence

  • (1) 4 foot by 8 foot sheet of "whiteboard" about $12. (1) 4x8 foot OSB board, or any 1/2 inch wood board of your choice. OSB is about $6 per 4x8. One 2x4. Have Home Depot cut the whiteboard into two 2x8 pieces and your backing board cut the same. Have them cut together so they match perfectly. Have them cut the 2x4 into 4, 2 foot pieces. Screw the whiteboard on top of the backing board, then screw the 2 foot 2x4 pieces down at each end pad interior edge of 2x4's. Polish. 2 boards $25

  • @ortleysurfer4197 omfg i was like what the hell is this hahahaha
