ok, so a little math here.
The radar was going off for 80 seconds before you passed the cop...
that is .0222 hours.
To cover a distance of 2.5 miles, you had to average 112.5 mph.
hmmm....
still was very long range though.

Not by any type of law enforcement if any kind around here. I've never EVER had the K band go off and have it be any kind of police. Police are almost always Ka band or VG2. K has only ever been set off by automatic doors in my experience.

K band radar is used by many local sheriffs on many local streets. It is used by Highway Patrol in most states actually. CA is one of the only states where highway patrol squad cars are not equipped with K band radar.
