An orchestral cover of Dragon Roost Island from Zelda The Wind Waker. I'd never paid much attention to the Zelda music until recently. I wish I had gotten into it much earlier as there's so many good pieces of music hidden behind 8bit blips and blops.

This version might be a little too epic and bombastic to fit the theme and it loses the windy-feel of the original, but that's just how it turned out.

MP3 available from my SoundCloud:

Used: FL Studio 10, Kontakt 5, Spitfire Albion, British Woodwinds, Percussion & Harp, Cinesamples CineBrass, HollyWoodwinds & CineSnare, Project Sam Symphobia 1, Symphobia 2 & True Strike, 8dio Requiem Pro, Private Orchestral String Library

  • 'HOY SMALL FRY. D'ah, I'm just joshin' with ya.

...Y'know, I'm honestly starting to think the same guy is going around and disliking all of your videos at least once just to be the guy who deviates from the system.

    Amazing work as always, dude. And approved by the fish, as always. >^)))>{

  • @Slapperfish Thanks, glad you approve :) That's just Mr Dislikey. It's okay, we're cool

  • is this form zreo?

  • @MrXtremeHuhn Nope, this is all my own work - see the video description for more info

  • Oy, another instance of Kondo getting credited from music he didn't compose. This one was composed by Kenta Nagata.

  • @JPSketches Poor dude - I can't remember where I got the credits list from but it had him as the composer. I'll fix it if YouTube ever get round to allowing people to edit/replace videos.

  • I don't know how you do it, but many of your orchestrations just sound so triumphant and victorious, yet they can also have the right mood of calm and peace to them. I swear if you were ever to compose your own soundtrack to a videogame, it would turn out amazing, and it would probably be a valuable one at that. Amazing job on this, as always, Blake!

  • dude please! Outset Island!!!

  • The Spanish feel to this song is really great.

  • I can really see a new Zelda coming out and incorporating bits and pieces from your masterpieces, so for a few moments we would say "OH GOD THERE'S _____ SONG!" but it would be new and beautiful.

  • You really need to do a cover of the great sea, that'd just make my year :D

  • Well, time to boot up the Gamecube.

...and put on a new pair of pants.

  • Gerudo Valley. You know what to do.

  • @dummeh

You could add an opaque annotation over the credit, blocking and correcting it.

  • I just discovered your videos and I've gotten into the habit of Liking and Adding to Favorites on each one before I've even heard it because I know it's going to be eargasmically amazing.

  • How/Why guys like you haven't been hired by Nintendo is beyond me. This is really some of the best stuff I've EVER heard and I listen to a LOT of arranges from the series.

  • Ganondorf dislikes this arrangement.
