It's a dangerous crossing. From what I have heard and can remember, a westbound train stopped in the station durring rushour, and several people believed that he pulled up far enough to keep the gates down (this crossing has a marker to tell engineers to stop east of it, to let gates up durring a stop), and they walked around the locomotive. This wasnt a super bad thing, but a port jervis express was wrong-railing up trk 2, and killed him as he steped out infront of it.

I used to blow the whistle on this engine when living/working in New Jersey. Government rules to blow whistle such as that one.

Ramsey is on the NJT mainline, just about 3 miles south of Suffern (the western terminous for most mainline and bergen county line trains.
