This song always gave me the feel that the woman he was talking about died and he was recounting their experience. A muted melancholy of a song with a sweetness about it.

@Ashley420xxx with a name like that you are probably better off smoking a blunt cuddling with someone you dont hate and being grateful you found such awesome music before stars collided or what not =) just throwing it out there ... for those who think Jesus will work and I even spent the time to shift +j Jesus there then good for you but marijuana is atleast proven in a sense I love Bon Iver with or without drugs and I feel blessed yea I went there to have known him =)

Justin Vernon appreciates noise better than any other artist in my opinion. The sounds by themselves are just white noise but he puts them together in a way where they just blend and you feel like you've just discovered a hidden secret. A very creative and mysterious man who knows how to manipulate sound and use it the play puppeteer with your emotions.
