  • I was talking about my first flight not this one, chances are it was and yes I used to see PJ in Liverpool often, Its a pity we cant confirm it. I just love simon's vids and told him so. I wonder if he knows which 1-11 it was? Simon - over to you

  • Hi. Sorry I don't know which 1-11 it was, only it was a scheduled shuttle flight between Manchester and Gatwick.

  • Wow that's quite amazing as, according to your profile, you were born in 1990. So you were two when you stopped flying for Dan Air and switched to Monarch. Incredible what children can do these days.

Also, if you actually flew for Aeroflot, you'd know that they don't have any 777's, they leased two of them between 1998-2005.

Funny how everyone on YouTube confuses playing on a little flight simulator game with being an actual pilot...

  • Brilliant,i have not flown on a Bac 1-11 since the begining of the 1970's,it was a rare treat just to watch that video and listen to those Rolls Royce spey engines again, the aeroplanes today are boring too bloody quiet if you ask me,great stuff .

  • nice landing in the time

  • Is that only this particular approach or have the approach patterns been changed since the 1980's and early 90's for being less noisy. I can remember when I was a kid in the 80's and returning from holidays with my parents. Watching the flaps come out more and more and engines throttling up. Just like on this clip. They almost seemed to accelerate at some point or flying level for a long time. Before suddenly easing and touching down. Now a days they just glide down smoothly. As I recollect.

  • @johnwood57 Yep, I second that last part of your comment. Among today's aircraft, the loudest one (in my own view) that's flying these days is the twin-engine MD-82, and even that is nothing compared to the BAC 1-11 noise. BAC 1-11s were at least 3 times noisier than the MD-82s taking off.

  • I loved Danair! I had to go to the airport on every Saturday to see Danair's BAe 146-100 arrival from LGW in Berne.

  • Even today's modern aircraft don't sound half as good as this one from inside the cabin!

  • @blueb0g my aunt, she is very sick ;-(

  • @marshalllucky You're quite possibly the worst troll I've ever come across, please try harder next time.

  • @marshalllucky Your friend is so wrong - the 1-11 is so different from the 727, so maybe your friend "stinks of poo" (how childish is that??)

  • @knaphilllee No , I think you`ll find that`s YOU. and you also stink of POO ;-)

  • @marshalllucky you're friend is a twat!
